ByzanTEEN Rally 2016
What is the ByzanTEEN Youth Rally ?
It is a function of the lntereparchial Youth Commission for the Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic Church in America. The Rally occurs every other year and brings
together teenagers from Byzantine Catholic parishes in an atmosphere of fellowship, prayer and spiritual enrichment. The ByzanTEEN Youth Rally offers a
rich opportunity for young Byzantine Catholics to meet one another and form lasting relationships that are mutually supportive in the Faith.
Who can attend the Rally?
The Rally is open to teenagers between the ages of 13-18 years of age who are members of a Byzantine Catholic parish. Teen participants must be
13 years old by November 1 of the Rally year. The Rally is also open to young adult facilitators and older adult chaperones who are members of a Byzantine
Catholic parish. Teenagers are the specific focus of ByzanTEEN Youth Rally. The Rally is not a family event. Therefore, the Rally Planning Committee reserves
the right to limit the young adult and older adult presence at the Rally within a specified ratio.
A Message for Parents
The ByzanTEEN Youth Rally enjoys an impeccable reputation as a safe and holy environment for your teenage children. Our chaperone-to-teen ratio meets and at times even exceeds recommended levels for such events. The Rally provides its own security team on a 24-hours-a-day basis. All adults present at the Rally must comply with the Safe Environment Policy of the Ruthenian Metropolia of Pittsburgh. The bishops, clergy, and religious of the Metropolia are always present at each Rally. Each Rally is staffed by professional medical personnel. The presenters at the ByzanTEEN Youth Rally usually come from within the Byzantine Catholic (Ruthenian) Metropolitan Church. Other presenters or keynote speakers who are invited to speak at the Rally are always those who enjoy a distinguished reputation in Catholic circles and who are known to be faithful to the teachings of the Church.
